Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness to ensure uniform cooking.
  • In a bowl, combine lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours, in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (around 375-400°F).
  • Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for 6-7 minutes per side, flipping only once, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Remove from the grill and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with your favorite sides, such as a fresh salad or grilled vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the marinade for a slight kick.
This recipe can also be baked at 400°F for 20-25 minutes if you don’t have a grill.
To enhance the smoky flavor, try adding wood chips to the grill.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
